I was born in Cape Canaveral, spent the first 19 years of my life living on the Space Coast. I watched shuttles and rockets from my backyard, the beach was a stone's throw from my house, my high school was literally on an island, and so many of my afternoons were spent watching thunderstorms roll in. It wasn't until I joined the Air Force and met so many people from around the US that I realized how truly awesome and unique my hometown is. Have any of you had that realization later in life, too?
