Back in 2011, I did the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk in Atlanta. Twenty miles a day for three days. I did this with my work friend, Jen, and it was an incredible experience. Not only was it really neat to push my body’s physical limits — my feet were torn up and my knees were the size of softballs — but it was a really amazing experience to see so many women and men come together to raise funding & awareness for a really shitty disease. The community was also amazing, lining up to cheer the walkers on. Every once in a while, I get a craving for the peanut butter & jelly graham cracker sandwiches they had at the stops.
And yes, I am wearing a tulle tutu. No, I would not recommend walking 20 miles in one.
