I didn’t know how badly I wanted to visit Spain until I was actually there. The Costa Brava was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, Barcelona and the surrounding areas were awe-inspiring.
While in Spain, visited Barcelona proper and saw some of the architectural landmarks there. We hiked Montserrat two different days. The hills & incline were insane. Explored an abandoned hotel outside of Montserrat, the Hotel Colonia Puig… It seemed to be barely standing, vandalized, and covered in graffiti. Straight out of a Ghost Hunters episode. Drove through the south of France and ate lunch in Andorra (THE CUTEST). I drooled over castles and country homes, tapas, and the view. We spent some time in Sitges drinking not-super-great beer, people watching, and devouring delicious paella. I’ve never been a seafood fan, but I was whenever I was getting it fresh in Spain. We spent a beach day at Tossa de Mar…I was completed taken with the Mediterranean (so cold) and the castle on the beach. We ate pizza for dinner at the best little Italian place, Il Commendatore.
Barcelona will always be one of the most special places for me. I’m really looking forward to the day I get to go back and revisit some of the places that are forever a part of me.
